Our Ministries

Small Groups

As churches grow larger, they must also grow smaller. That is why we consider our Small Groups to be the heartbeat of our church. They foster environments where deep personal friendships grow, and where the church body truly becomes a family. We meet in homes, study God’s Word, pray and worship…sometimes there’s even food.

We have over 15 small group locations through the Toledo area, so you can be sure to find one nearby. Small Groups follow the schedule of an academic calendar year and they break for the summer months.

Women of the Word

Women of the Word seeks to deepen women’s faith in Jesus Christ while also growing them in love for one another. God’s Word is our focus. Through our various ministries, we encourage women to mature Christian faith and joyful living.

Multiple women’s Bible studies meet weekly throughout the year. These studies emphasize group discussion and personal Bible exploration. Studies are offered at various times during the week so that each woman can find one that fits her schedule. Daytime studies provide childcare.

Women of the Word also hosts numerous teaching events, including our annual “re:garding Him” women’s conference (www.regardingHim.com). These events consider topics which are important to women and examine what the Bible has to say about them. Their aim is to provide women with practical application of scripture to their lives.

mom2mom is a ministry designed to develop friendships among mothers of all ages and to lead them in biblical parenting. Mom2mom meets the first Wednesday of each month during the school year and features speakers and discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. Nursery care and creative preschool programming are provided.

Women of the Word has a weekly blog, www.reflect-i.com. This blog encourages and challenges readers with wisdom gained from scripture. Women also can be strengthened in their faith by listening to our archived teachings on the regardingHim blog.

Living Word Youth

Living Word Youth Group exists to help parents propel young men and women from being consumers within the Christian life to being producers within it—loving and serving Christ and His Church on their own.

Each Wednesday night, we gather at the church house from 6:30PM – 8:45PM for worship, teaching, prayer groups and activities. Throughout the year, there are a variety of other events including: retreats, camping trips, mother-daughter conferences, Cedar Point trips, summer picnics and sports days.

If you are in Jr. High or High School, we welcome you to join us.

AWANA is our children’s ministry that emphasizes fun and Bible memorization. A kid’s ministry without fun is a ministry without kids, but while we are committed to fun, we also desire to see our children grow in the knowledge and love of God through learning the Bible and memorizing Scripture.

AWANA runs from September through May and is for all kids ages 4 years old through 6th grade.

Semper Ref

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” – Romans 12:2

Semper Reformanda means, “always reforming.” As students and young professionals, this is our desire. Semper Ref is committed to discipling area college-age individuals in the Christian faith. The group and its leaders meet weekly to study God’s word, fellowship, challenge and encourage one another.

Apart from weekly meetings, Semper Ref also enjoys fall and spring retreats, summer trips, service opportunities, sports activities and more.

We hope you join us!
